What is the Difference Between Hemp and Marijuana?

What-is-the-Difference-Between-Hemp-and-Marijuana

Simple, both hemp and marijuana are different varieties of a plant classified as, or called cannabis, just like a pine tree and a palm tree are different varieties or classifications for trees. Both hemp and marijuana produce CBD. And just like selective breeding is used to make racehorses faster or flowers more colorful, selective breeding can genetically increase hemp or marijuana’s production of CBD when grown. Therefore, the question of How is CBD different from marijuana is answered by saying, CBD is produced by marijuana and hemp.

Is CBD Legal?

Yes, it is legal although in some states you might need a license to grow, manufacture, or sell products to the public.

Can CBD be mailed?

Yes, it is legal to mail CBD in the United States but Federal law specifically states it must contain less than 0.3% THC and must be derived from hemp as opposed to cannabis which is truly irrelevant since CBD from marijuana is the same chemically as CBD from hemp.

The Agricultural Improvement Act of 2018 (The 2018 Farm Bill) removed hemp from the federally controlled substance list which allows for hemp products to be shipped between states as of June 6, 2019.
